Joey Yung “Pretty Crazy” Concert 2019
2019.08.29

Joey Yung recently performed a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of her musical career debut.

The theme of the concert, “Pretty Crazy”, was tailor-made for Joey by her good friend Wyman. It reviews Joey’s 20-year music career in both her work and personal life. They have spared no expenses with this concert’s production, inviting renowned British stage designer Es Devlin to design and produce the concerts extravagant stage. Es Devlin has worked with International superstars like Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Adele, Rihanna, and Katy Perry among others.

There is a large amount of machinery used on stage for effects, the main focus being the large multi-layered ring shaped device that centers the stage. This ring can be reshaped into a sphere, a funnel, a cake, and into a dual layer setup. Another special installation is the cable car, which allows Joey to ride along the ceiling of the coliseum and interact with fans more intimately.

You’ll also find Harris “Ho Bing” Ho, the popular band leader renowned for his skill and experience, performing alongside Joey for this concert.

Most importantly, the audio equipment used for the concert is not to be overlooked. Joey has chosen top of the line Sennheiser 5000 series wireless microphones for vocals, while the live string band use Danish made DPA microphones. Famous mixing engineer Frankie Hung, who was in charge of FOH tuning/mixing, chose his favorite Solid State Logic L550 mixing console which allows him to ensure all of Joey’s fans were able to enjoy the best audio and visual effects during the concert.
