Paweł Sekuła of Partner Group was responsible for the technical management of the event and just last year he had decided to make an investment by purchasing a line array system: the choice fell on dBTechnologies and the VIO series. Partner Group thus became the first company in southern Poland to join the VIO L208 user network with projects in various entertainment areas.

You recently decided to buy a line array. What influenced your choice?

"In October last year, we purchased our first line array pro system. We have chosen dBTechnologies and the VIO series. I already knew the brand and the final decision was made during the presentation in the SoundTrade showroom. We were looking for equipment that was primarily compact, flexible and easy to use. Active modules allow any configuration, which is very important for us. The dBTechnologies system meets all these requirements. 90% of the events we do are indoor events. Therefore we will also focus and develop our activities in this direction in the future. Thanks to SoundTrade and Maciek Szewczyk, we had additional hardware support for this event. We currently have a set of events scheduled, but we are already planning further investments and expanding our system with other VIO L208 and S118R modules. Simplicity and high speed of assembly are great strengths of the system. The mode of operation is very intuitive and the presence of Maciek Szewczyk has enabled us to form our team dedicated to the new system. dBTechnologies also provides libraries for the Ease Focus III software which allows you to calculate the optimal sound coverage of the acoustic surface and the necessary pinning. During this year's MediaTory gala, which took place in the Jagiellonian University's Auditorium Maximum, we used a total of 20 VIO L208 and 6 VIO S118R modules. Everything was managed by a dedicated RDNet network controller. We also set up additional areas as the horizontal sound coverage angle was almost 180 degrees. The system evenly covered the entire auditorium and stood out for its high dynamics and sound selectivity. This has also been noticed by the organizer and the public".

Jakub Lalik was responsible for assembling the system during the MediaTory Galá: “Since I often work with various line arrays, I know the most important thing is that the system can be connected as easily and as quickly as possible; I think the VIO L208 system is very well prepared for fast work. The elements are integrated, the speaker handles are comfortable (not all line arrays can boast this quality), the housing has additional holes for the pins, which facilitates installation (they are always close at hand). After a quick training, hanging multiple clusters wasn't a problem for us. We wanted to evenly cover the entire auditorium. We had 20 VIO L208 modules and 6 S118R modules available. Because of the small amount of space in front of the stage, and next to it, we decided to place the subwoofer in cardioid configuration to limit the amount of bass on stage. At the beginning of the preparations first thing we sized the room to render the project in EASE Focus. We have designated the areas for suspending the PA system. We consulted our project with Maciek Szewczyk, who brought additional modules that day and who came to train us on how to work with VIO systems. After hanging up the system, last thing was the device configuration in Aurora and the measurements to get the correct time and phase consistency for the whole system. Of course, Maciek helped us. After checking the entire system, we were able to deliver it to the sound engineer, Kuba Kasznia, who dealt with the sound during the event. My job was to prepare the system so that it sounded exactly the same in every place of the venue: with the AURORA software, which is completely wireless, I could do it from anywhere in the room; Aurora also facilitated system monitoring during the event, because I didn't have to sit backstage and watch the meters but I could listen to the FOH system from the control center.
